What if my client asks me a question I do not know the answer to?
We are here to help. You can email us, or call us during normal office hours, and we will help you with your query.
Who is responsible for filing the accounts and tax return?
You will file these on your client's behalf.
What dealings will you have directly with my client?
None whatsoever. We have no direct engagement with your client. We simply contract with you to provide accounts preparation services for you. You then retain the entire client relationship.
My client already has an accountant - how do I go about taking over?
The procedure for taking over from another Accountant is very straightforward. We can guide you through the process and provide you with all the documentation you need.
How much is the flat rate fee, and are there any hidden costs?
We do not disclose the amount of our fee on this website to avoid contact from clients directly, due to the low cost of our service. We would be happy to discuss this with you by phone or email once we have identified you as a professional Bookkeeping firm. There are no costs in addition to the fixed rate fee provided you have produced records to Trial Balance with all of the Balance Sheet items reconciled and fully completed the company questionnaire.
How long does it take to prepare the accounts?
We aim to prepare each year end pack within 3 weeks of receiving the information from you. However, this is dependent upon us receiving prompt responses to any queries we may have.
If you have a filing deadline that is shorter than our standard 3 week turnaround time, you can contact us directly for an estimation of the completion time.
Am I allowed/qualified to offer this service?
There are no restrictions on who can prepare the draft statutory accounts for a company director's approval. However, if you belong to a professional body you should be aware of any additional regulations that apply to your level of membership. We currently work with members of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the International Association of Bookkeepers (IAB), who will require you as a minimum to have a practicing certificate or equivalent before offering this service. However, we strongly recommend that if you are in any doubt as to whether you can offer this service, then you should contact your professional body directly for clarification regarding your individual circumstances.
How can I be sure my client's data is safe?
We use a secure data transfer service to send information to you and receive information from you. Coupled with the strict in-house confidentiality procedures required by our governing body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, we take every available measure to protect your client's personal and business information.
